Joys & Concerns from December 2003
This is where we recognize personal events in the lives of friends and members of Spindeltop Unitarian Church.
December
Welcome to our new member, Bob Mark!
Art Vawter, member since 1952, is bedfast now at the Community Retirement Home, (3141 Proctor Stree, Port Arthur, 985-8035). He is regularly visited by Glenn and Pat Putnam, Bob and Martha Troxell and Hank Rivers and Marni Manz. Art continues to enjoy having visitors and talking about Spindletop.
Sharon Colbert writes in an e-mail from New Mexico that she appreciates everyone's love and support. Her father has more than 80% blockage of three of the major arteries to his heart. Her mother was diagnosed with lung cancer earlier this year and it has spread to her bones. Sharon has a wonderful support system.
Bobby Cowart writes that she is still not too well and still has bouts with the shingles. She likes to sleep late in the mornings and regrets not being able to make it to church more often.
Pat McGown has returned from visiting her daughter in Boston. She is experiencing foot pain and is beginning pain-management treatments. She says, "I have been thinking about you guys..." and hopes to be back at church soon.
Happy Birthday in December!
