Joys & Concerns
This is where we recognize personal events in the lives of friends and members of Spindeltop Unitarian Church.
Our own home-grown, Spindletop-
ordained, Rev. Lillie Henley, will be leaving
for her new ministry in Washington, DC., in
July. As many of you know, Lillie graduated
from Meadville Lombard in 1998 and the
congregation ordained her September 19,
1998. Lillie welcomes calls and letters
from her friends at Spindletop. The
Universalist Memorial National Church,
1810 Sixteenth Street, NW, Washington,
DC, 20009, 202-387-3411. Her email
address is sunshinerev@sbcglobal.net.
She has had ministries in Fort Worth, TX,
Toledo, OH, and Winston-Salem, NC. Her
family lives in Beaumont, so we will see her
every now and then. Lillie is a longtime
Unitarian and Universalist, having found
Spindletop in the late 1960s. In her new
church, the worship is Universalist and
traditional Christian. A faith tradition in
which Lillie, who grew up Southern Baptist,
finds her self very much at home. If you get
to Washington DC, after Lillie gets there
August 1, call her; she'd love a visit.
Dear Friends,
I think I informed all of you that I was
accepted into Texas Woman's University's
English MA program at Denton. Today the
Department Chair offered me an
assistantship. The work entails tutoring 20
hours a week in the University's Writing
Center (The Write Site). Thank you all for
your support and encourage.

Our thoughts and best wishes go out to one of our former ministers, Walter Moulton, who is having health problems. He lost one lung to cancer and has just learned that he now has it in his other lung. He and Paula can be reached at waltpaula@gwi.net, or at 3 Hidden Lane, Kennebunkport, ME 04043.
