board meeting minutes - 03/21/04

The Spindletop Unitarian Church board of directors met on 03/21/04 at 9:00am.

The following board members were present:

Corky Cullins

Karen Corwin

Ria Lhis

Cathy Allen

Tom Harlan

Tom Capo (ex-offico)

The following board members were absent:

Oscar Murphy

Jo Woody

Mike Conn

Jeff Pittman

Sharon Colbert

The meeting was first called to order by Corky Cullins.

The chalice lighting ceremony was conducted by Rev. Tom Capo.

The presence of a quorum was then determined.

A quorum being present, the previous minutes for February were approved by unanimous vote.

The minister's report was next received by the board, to include the following:

An Activity report for the previous month.

A schedule of activities for the upcoming month.

A summary of upcoming plans and projects.

The board then approved Tom Capo to place advertisement for Unitarian church in the Gay Yellowpages by unanimous vote.

The treasurer's report was then received and approved.

Committee reports were waived with exception of grounds committee, which reported the need for a new mower and trimmer.

The following old business was discussed:

Previously approved past rental contract executed and approved.

The status of covenant groups was discussed at length, including the need to advertise presence of covenant groups within the church.

Organization and personnell for membership committee was discussed.

Organization and personnell for nominating committee was also discussed.

Plans for the upcoming special congregational meeting was discussed.

No New business presenting, the meeting was then adjourned andthe chalice extinguished.
