board meeting minutes - 05/16/04

The Spindletop Unitarian Church Board of Directors met on 05/16/04 at 9:00am.

The following members were present:

Cathy Allen

Corky Cullins

Tom Harlan

Sharon Colbert

Enrique Del Campo

Tom Capo (ex-officio)

The meeting was called to order by Corky Cullins.

The chalice lighting ceremony was conducted by Rev. Tom Capo.

Previous minutes were approved.

Officers were chosen for the upcoming year as follows:

Corky Cullins - President

Sharon Colbert - Vice President

Tom Harlan - Secretary

Karen Corwin - Treasurer

The minister's report was received by the board to include the following:

1. an activity report
2. an upcoming activities schedule and minister's calendar.

Committee reports were waived.

Treasurer's report as presented at congregational meeting. No change in status quo.

The following old business was discussed:

Covenant groups were discussed, with ideas for new groups and expanded participation.

Membership was discussed, with ideas for recruiting and retaining members.

The following new business was discussed:

Church rental for a wedding on August 21st. was discussed and the event tenatively placed on the calendar.

The outstanding balance from the PAST Psychic Fair church rental was remitted and an accounting of such funds presented to the board.

Ideas for church fundraisers were discussed.

No further new business presenting, the meeting was then adjourned.
