board meeting minutes - 07/18/04

The Spindletop Unitarian Church board of directors met on July 18, 2004 at 9:00am.

The following board members were present:

Corky Cullins

Cathy Allen

Karen Corwin

Sharon Colbert

Enrique DelCampo

Tom Harlan

The meeting was called to order by Corky Cullins.

Previous minutes were read and approved.

The treasurer's report was presented by Karen Corwin.

No minister's report was forthcoming due to Rev. Capo's absence, however, the results of the survey for the congregation's vision for the church was presented.

The planning committee reported that the property appraisal would cost an estimated $1,600.00. Considerable discussion was had, with the consensus that further estimates should be obtained, and the appraisal done per the lowest estimate.

The board next turned to old business, wherein plans for the upcoming special congregational meeting to ammend church by-laws to allow meetings to be run on a consensus model rather than Robert's rules was discussed at considerable length.

The following new business was next discussed:

The board approved the church rental on August 21st from 12:00 to 3:00 for a wedding.

The board approved the Gini Coulter nominating petition presented.

No further business presenting, the meeting was adjourned.
