board meeting minutes - 12/19/04

The Spindletop Unitarian Church board of directors met on December 19, 2004, at 9:00am.

The following board members were present:

Corky Cullins

Sharon Colbert

Bob Mark

Karen Corwin

Tom Harlan

Rev. Tom Capo (ex-officio)

The meeting was called to order by Corky Cullins.

The chalice lighting ceremony was conducted by Rev. Tom Capo.

Approval of previous minutes was waived.

The ministers report was received and reviewed by the board, to include an activity summary, a schedule of upcoming activities, and a list of items for consideration by the board.

The following items of business were dealt with by the board:

Plans for the upcoming coffeehouse on Feb. 26th was discussed.

Offering the use of the church facilities by the Jewish synagog was discussed and approved.

Issues related to long range planning and feasibility were discussed at length.

Discussion was had regarding child care and children's religious education, and the need to hire personnell in this area.

Issues related to building and grounds maintenance were discussed.

Bringing in Bob Hill as a consultant for long range planning and mission statement purposes was discussed and approved.

Exploring possibilities for obtaining financial assistance for Mona Ferguson was discussed and approved.

No further business presenting, the meeting was adjourned.
