board meeting minutes - 01/16/05

The Spindletop Unitarian Church board of directors met on January 16, 2005.

The following board members were present:

Corky Cullins

Karen Corwin

Sharon Colbert

Kathy Allen

Bob Mark

Enrique DelCampo

Tom Harlan

Rev. Tom Capo (ex-officio)

The meeting was called to order by Corky Cullins.

The chalice lighting ceremony was conducted by Rev. Tom Capo.

Previous minutes for the month(s) of October and November were approved.

The minister's report was received by the board, to include the following:

An activity report for the month of January.

A schedule of activities for the month of February.

A listing of upcoming events.

The treasurer's report was next received by the board.

The following business was discussed by the board:

Placing information on the church website pertaining to the rental of church facilities was discussed and approved.

Plans for the upcoming cofeehouse were discussed.

Plans for the upcoming church booksale were discussed.

Corky Cullins presented a progress report on the activity of the long-range planning and feasibility committee.

Plans for a church workday on February 26th were discussed. Installing an on-site mailbox and moving the church sign closer to the road were also discussed and approved.

Plans for the upcoming pledge party on March 19th were discussed.

Discussion was had regarding the upcoming ministerial evaluation.

Discussion was also had regarding the purchase of new hymnals for the church.

No further business presenting, the meeting was adjourned.
