April 2004 Worship Services
- April 4
- Matthew, Mark, Luke and Mel: Christian roots of anti-Semitism by Harold Skiles.
- April 11
- Annual Flower Communion led by Rev. Tom Capo
Each year at Easter, Unitarian Universalist Churches all over the country share a flower communion. This flower communion was originated by Czechoslovakian Uniterian minister, Rev. Norbert Fabian Capek in 1923. Please bring a flower(s) to share as part of this unique and moving ceremony.
- April 18
- A Tribute to Rev. Webster Kitchell by Rev. Tom Capo
I offered two sermon titles at the service auction last month. Harold Skiles bought one (Donna Birdwell the other), Harold requested that I present a sermon on Rev. Kitchell, a UU minister and author of numerous books. One in particular that I like is God's Dog, Conversations with Coyote.
- April 25
- Rudolph Steiner 1861-1925: Enlightened Genius or Cerifiable Pariah by Bob Mark
Credited by many as the founder of modern organic gardening and homeopathic medicine, Rudolph Steiner has been largely ignored by scholars as a great modern thinker. However, his esoteric (read occult) view of Christianity and universal truth, is now generating a firestorm of criticism from the evangelical Christian right.
