First Friday Flicks meets every first friday of the month to view any variety of movie.

About the Group

We follow the Covenant format of the UU Church, but the meetings are rather informal (we eat snacks while we watch the movie, some may prefer to sit on the carpet, etc.) and are conducted at the home of the sponsor. Movies we watch have any variety of themes, that the sponsor selects based on feedback from the group. A discussion follows in which we share views and opinions freely expressed but following the Church's principle of respecting other's opinions (even if we disagree with them).

This is a great opportunity to share and expand our views, and over time, to get to know each other and ultimately to achieve personal growth through the group's fostering. When the group is more solidified we will expect members to commit to regular attendance as much as feasible. A reminder: membership in the church is not a requisite to join the group. There is no fee to join or attend; some members choose to bring food or drink to share, but that is not required or expected either (I usually keep enough). Membership size may eventually be limited by space available. What we do expect members to do is to enjoy with the rest of us watching a good movie, learn something from each other. What we do expect you to bring is yourself.

We've been meeting once a month on the first Friday of each month, by 7:00 PM. Reminders are sent via email and the church's newsletter. (I'll personally call you to remind you, if that's what you request).
